Wacław Walecki

Born Feb. 20th, 1947 in Częstochowa, full professor, habilitated Doctor of the Humanities. Graduated from the Department of Philology of the Jagiellonian University. Research Associate at the Chair of Enlightment and Old Polish Literature of the Institute of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University. Member of the History of Literature Committee of the Polish Academy Academy of Sciences.

Scholar in Old Polish and Enlightment culture; historian of Old Polish and Enlighterment Literature; textologist; editor of Polish literature; academic teacher; propagator of science; lectured Polish literature at the University of Vienna.

Full list of his publications comprises over 100 items. He is editor of Bibliophile's Treasure and Literary Tradition Collection (Collegium Columbinum) - series of facsimile and bibliophily editions of Polish literary texts. He is also editor-in-chief of Knowledge for Everybody series of popular monographs published under the auspices of Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and editor-in-chief of Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego.
