The book consists of reprinted replicas of two oldest Latin-German-Polish dictionaries by Franciscus Mymerus and Ioannes Murmellius. Both dictionaries are believed to have been compiled in 1528. The unique copy of the Mymerus dictionary is preserved in Uppsala University Library (Sweden); Murmellius's work is also reproduced from that Library's collections. A few other copies of that edition are known to be preserved in other European libraries. today both writings have a special scholarly value as a historic record for the Polish language and as a cultural testimony to the past. This facsimile edition was published thanks to the joint endeavour by specialists from the Jagiellonian University and the European Viadrina University, Frankfurt/O.
