An anthology of Jan Kochanowski's poems and their English translations by Teresa Bałuk-Ulewiczowa. The publication is both a scientific and literary endeavour: the more so as the translations were made into the English used by contemporaries of Kochanowski's, and the poems were made to follow principles governing Old Polish verse and rhyme pattern. The poems are accompanied by a short essay on translation, dwelling on such crucial questions as the whether literary texts are at all translatable or not.
