The "treasure" in the title is the only authentic remembrance of the Romantic poet Juliusz Słowacki that has been preserved in his home town Krzemieniec (now Kremenets in the Ukraine). The treasure in question is a picture the poet painted when he was a young man. For a long time the picture was forgotten. This coloured reproduction of the canvas together with a specialist commentary has been published to raise founds for Towarzystwo Odrodzenia Kultury Polskiej im. Juliusza Słowackiego w mieście Krzemieńcu (The Juliusz Słowacki Society for the Renaissance of Polish Culture in the town of Kremenets).
