This book is addressed to enthusiasts of the works of Henryk Sienkiewicz, and contains passages from the autographs of Ogniem i mieczem, Potop, and Pan Wołodyjowski which the author removed from the novels just before they were sent to the printers and never appeared in the finished versions of the three novels. These passages were not removed on the grounds of correction, but simply be-cause the author discarded them. Often they present different formulations, emphases, or versions of the events, or even abridgements or amplifications of some parts of the story. Thus the even-numbered pages of this book present a new or unknown "Trilogy", juxtaposed with the generally accessible final text, which is reproduced on the odd pages. Readers will thus be able to enjoy a variety of nuances, unforeseen potential developments of the plot...
