On the fiftieth death anniversary and coming centenary of birth, International Scientific Conference entitles L’opera di Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński al suo tempo ed oggi was held in Naples from 23rd to 24th May 2003 Organised by Professor Jolanta Żurawska of Dipartamento di Studi dell’Europa Orientale in Università degli di Napoli "L’Orientale". The Session, or rather a Sympozjon, as Konstanty Ildefons would have called it, not only proved that Gałczyński’s works and life continue to be a part of rekindled disputes of Polish intelligentsia but also proved that the author of Niobe exists as a poet of European culture, a universal artist, writer of the 20th century, improving the form and engaged in a quest for the sense of the world.
